2007 Chewing Pencils Christmas Cartoon Project - The First Bunch
Published by Matt Glover December 10th, 2007 in Group Projects
The pencils are moving furiously, the entries are coming in and our guest judge has started a fight in the comments - I love it when a drawing project comes together!
If you would like to enter, please read the rules first then get to it.
Here’s a list of the entries I have received so far.
Enjoy!
Rich from The Cartoon Days of Christmas submitted the Bethlehem Census.
Val from The Cartoon Days of Christmas submitted some Holiday Shopping.
Plus there have been a few more that need to change a few things to comply with the rules!
Draw well!

There seems to be a few places to post the Christmas Contest Toons so Here’s my entry again..

Come see Matt as one of the Two Wise Guys!
Terry, my son is studying German and they’ve been talking about Weihnachtsmann … doesn’t he (or a sidekick) give presents to good kids and hit the bad (our version is getting a lump of coal of course)! It’s interesting the different customs surrounding Christmas!
In fact all in my family have studied German (except my daughter who is much better at Spanish than we are at German)! My dad’s side of the family lived in the Black Forrest region, once upon a time (1800s). Still have some distant cousins roaming around there.
Merry Christmas!
Oops, I meant Teddy! Merry Christmas to you too though!
Hi Rich,
.
yes, “Knecht Rupprecht” -Santa’s sidekick- (what a nice picture: worth a cartoon: Santa as a ventriloquist with his sidekick Rupprecht, any takers?) hits the bad kids with a birch -”Rute” in German-.
But this has never happened to me, of course
“Fröhliche Weihnachten” !
Teddy
Teddy,
Yeah … what a hoot! I think we need that over here too! I could see Santa using an alter ego (ventriloquist’s dummy) like that to do what’s probably on his heart for the bad little kids
Merry Christmas to you too,
Rich
Matt,
For the record, I added your BLOG to my “permanent” links page as well. You’ve got a great resource here. (Note: this is not sucking up because you aren’t the judge )
Rich
Thanks Rich!
