Quick Tip: Be Contactable
Published by Matt Glover August 1st, 2007 in Quick TipsI quoted on a job for a new client this morning.
This person had seen my work in a journal from ages ago.
In that time, I’ve changed my home address, my phone number and my email address.
However, I’ve made a point of ’signing’ my cartoons with my web site logo - “mattglover.com“
Thus, to contact me all he needed to do was type the address into his browser, click on the ‘contact matt’ link, type his question and wait for a response.
Now, I’m not sure if I’ll get the job or not, but it had reminded me that people find out about my work from all over the place. Because of that, they need to be able to find out how to contact me from all of those places as well. A website URL embedded in the image somewhere is perhaps the easiest way to do this.
I’ve paid for my domain name for ten years in advance. It will be my primary ’shop front’ and so will continue to appear on all of my work.
And hopefully many more clients will contact me this way in the future!
