Quick Tip: Be Nice!

This afternoon I was approached by a client to do some drawing that will earn me a four figure fee. This wil be the first time I’ve done any work for this company, but they were quite happy to pay whatever I asked.
While I’ve not worked for the company before, the employee that contacted me is a woman that used to work for another client of mine. At the time, this lady was the ‘middle woman’ who took all my ideas back to the folk that made the final decision. Those unseen people made life a bit difficult at times, and I remember getting a bit hot under the collar at times.
But I never took my frustration out on this woman. She was only doing her job and I suspected was as frustrated as I was. Which was fortunate, because now she calls the shots!!
I’ve never met her face to face, and there’s a good chance I never will. But if I hadn’t been nice to her back when she was the secretary, I wouldn’t have got such a good job now she’s the boss.
The moral of the story? Be nice. Always.
