From the Inbox: Cartoon Opportunities

Do you know if the resource magazine Cartoon Opportunities is still published?
I don’t recall having ever seen this publication in Australia, but that doesn’t mean it is still alive and well in other parts of the world. Can any one tell us if they’ve seen it recently?

It may be, but I wouldn’t get it.
The magazine is published by the people who run the Cartoonerama training course. It was founded by Leo Stoutsenberger in 1960, and recommended by Randy Glasbergen in his book ‘How To Be A Successful Cartoonist’ (which I *highly* recommend).
My copy was a bit dated, so I wrote Randy online to ask if he still recommended the course…sadly, he doesn’t. I assume the same goes for the magazine.
I have been told that the ‘Gag Recap’ trade journal is a good source for connections, but I don’t know if it still is published.
