Easter Cartoon Drawing Project - The Winners
Published by Matt Glover March 30th, 2007 in Group Projects
Congratulations to Andre Charbonneau on being selected as the Chewing Pencils Easter Cartoon Drawing Project winner!
Andre’s submission was chosen by Justin Baeder from WebbleYou and earns him three free months hosting with Justin’s company.
Here’s what Justin had to say about Andre’s cartoon:
There were lots of good entries. I’ll have to go with the one by Andre Charbonneau. Like many of the other entries, it successfully pokes fun at the combination of bizarre candy and theologically weighty events that we find ourselves surrounded by at Easter. I also like the way it creates the joke by imagining Jesus himself coming up with the idea of chocolate bunnies to celebrate his own resurrection. Well done, Andre!
For the ‘People’s Choice’ award, I received an inbox full of votes and was pleasantly surprised to find all of our entries earning a vote or two. BUt the winner, by a country mile, was Alan Wright with his Bunny in a Pot cartoon. Congratulations Alan - take a bow!
Once again, here is the full list of submissions. If you’ve found your way to this post via a search engine and would like to reproduce any of the cartoons you see, please contact me directly and I’ll put you in touch with the atrist. All images remain the property of the cartoonists involved.
May Easter be a special time of blessing for you and those you love!

Thanks Matt for the cartooning project. It’s really fun and inspiring to see so many different cartoons from all over the world and with so many different styles and mediums. Its the perfect opportunity for people to show their work and get some very valuable feedback from other artists. Definitely worth doing again and again!
