Chewing Pencils Easter Drawing Project
Published by Matt Glover March 12th, 2007 in Group ProjectsSubmissions for this project have now closed. All submissions can be viewed below. If you would like to use any of these Easter cartoons in a publication or website, please contact the artist directly.
Easter is a month away, so NOW is the time to be drawing your Easter cartoons, posting them on your site and submitting them to editors. And it also means its time for another Chewing Pencils Group Drawing Project!
The Christmas drawing project generated lots of traffic and exposure for all involved - even today, this post is still one of the most visited on CP. Hopefully the Easter Project will do the same.
To enter, simply create a single panel, gag cartoon with an Easter theme. The discovery of Jesus ‘bones’ over the last few days should give you plenty of material if you want to go down the religious path, or you can go down the commercial path with chocolate eggs and bunnies if you like. Cartoons can be of any dimension, but must be family friendly(ish). Email me if you’re not sure!
Once you’ve created your cartoon, post it on your own site/blog, link back to this post and send me an email with Chewing Pencils Easter Drawing Project in the subject line. You’ll get two links back to your site from Chewing Pencils, plus a stream of visitors to view your work. Submissions are open NOW and will close on March 22nd 23rd, giving you ten three more days to get your creation together.
Justin Baeder from WebbleYou will be our judge. WebbleYou has hosted Chewing Pencils since it’s beginning and has been the best of all the web hosts I have ever dealt with. Fast and reliable technical support, with all the features I need and none of the stuff I don’t. An added bonus is the US$4 a month for hosting. If you’re looking to host your site or blog, make sure you put WebbleYou on your list of companies to consider.
Accordingly, first prize for the Easter Drawing Project is three free months of hosting with WebbleYou. Thanks Justin!
For a bit of added fun, once all the submissions are gathered together, we will have a ‘people’s choice’ award determined by the votes of CP readers.
So, pick up your pencil (or brush, or stylus, or whatever) and get to work!

No restrictions on size this time Ross. Be creative!
What about Passover? Did you forget about your Jewish audience?
OK OK, fine… I’ll draw flashy eggs and edible bunnies… whatever.
hehe. Passover counts Greg!
What if we have a few cartoons, ideas, etc. but no website?
Send them to me as a GIF file and I’ll post them on a web page for you.
I created a Cartoon/Caricature Page on my website and moved my cartoon there. Please redirect because my toon is not coming up. http://www.adcockstudio.com
Thanks
