Captain America is Dead

From todays paper:
In the latest issue of his comic book, Steve Rogers, the star-spangled hero with the gleaming shield and World War II roots, is shot dead — and his publisher, Marvel Comics, pledges that it is not a dream, a hoax or a short-term stunt.
The issue hit news stands on Wednesday and shows the hero gunned down on the steps of a court. He was arriving there as a fugitive, a resistance leader to a federal Superhero Registration Act that has been a Marvel story line for the past year.
The assassin is alleged to be an intelligence agent romantically involved with Captain America and under the control of a supervillain.
I’m not a follower of Captain America at all, but I do love to hear the stories of a super hero being killed and then how he somehow gets worked back into the story. I remember the issue when Superman died, and the powerful image of Batman carrying a lifeless Robin when Boy Wonder met his maker.
Stay tuned for what happens to the Captain!
