Chewing Pencils

When I started Chewing Pencils, my main aim was to share what I’ve learnt in my journey from hobby doodler to professional cartoonist, in the hope that others would also see some of their drawing dreams become reality. In the six months that I’ve writing this blog, I’ve been encouraged by the emails I’ve received from people who have found the advice or help they were looking for and gone on to make some money from their drawing.

If the blog lasted more than six months, I wanted to do more than just give advice, but feature the work of individuals from around the world who were on a similar journey to me, in the hope that we could learn fom each other, have a bit of fun, and make some online cartooning buddies in the process.

Anyway, Chewing Pencils has been around for more than six months and has a weekly readership of around 1000. So I think it’s time to start featuring the work of people just like YOU…

Basically what will happen is I will feature a cartoonist/illustrator each Friday, displaying some of their work, posting a short interview and linking back to their site. To be the feature artist, all you have to do is send me an email that contains a link to your blog/site and I’ll then send you a list of questions. When you’ve sent back your responses, I’ll schedule you for the next available Friday.

And every so often I’ll feature a cartoonist who might not be a reader of Chewing Pencils, but is somebody who I admire and want to steal ideas from…
