This is Jason’s entry for the Chewing Pencils January Group Drawing Project. First prize is an original cartoon by our judge, Matt Golding. For full details on how to enter (I’ll accept some late entries) click here.
Jason’s tip:
“Cartooning is a business, and like any other business it needs promotion. If you choose to market yourself using any form of advertising, find a way to monitor which advertising is working best for you, and where most of your referals are coming from. For instance, if you are running ads in 2 different papers, have an ad in the Yellow Pages and also give out hundreds of business cards, make sure you ask every client where they heard about you.”

matt I read your ten tips on making money cartooning and I think Its great.I dont have a website yet but will soon. I want to send you some of my cartoons but i dont use the coputer to draw them I do them by hand. thanks for your time robert slatus
