Quick Tip: Recycling!

My boys are right into Bob the Builder at the moment. Basically it’s a kids show that tells of the adventures of Bob and his construction vehicles as they operate a building and construction business.
One of Bob’s catch-cries is this: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE!
It’s a great environmental theme that runs through the show, but I wonder if it is really a subliminal message to cartoonists about how to make some extra money from their work.
Recently I’ve been working on a project that has required me to come up with 52, business card sized, gag cartoons. I’ve been brainstoriming ideas but realised part the way through that I had a heap of jokes I’d already used in a different format, that I could easily recycle. The new cartoons still had to be drawn from scratch, but the jokes themselves were ones I had used before.
It has meant that my project is way ahead of schedule, and my client is more than happy.
Win-win!

I’ve been thinking of recycling some of the cartoons from my blog. I’m guessing that alot of new visitors haven’t seen stuff I did months ago, and I could present this to the regular visitors as ‘the best of’.
It’s all there for people to find, but most don’t bother with the archives for some reason. If it isn’t on the front page - they just don’t look.
