A competition for Aussie caricaturists. Some good prize money on offer, so if you’re down under, give this one a go! Thanks to Jason Chatfield for the heads up.
Artists are invited to submit entries for the Inaugural Michael Collins Caricature Award 2006, a prestigious award for the best caricature of a past or present, famous or infamous international or Australian identity, created in the 12 months preceding the entry date. Offering $5,000 in prize money, it is open to Australian residents over the age of 18yrs. The winning entry will receive $4,000 and a trophy, the runner-up will receive $1,000, and a copy of the brand new COREL Painter IX.5 software package valued at $500 will be awarded to the best student entry.
The aim of the Award is to encourage and promote the Art of Caricature and support a worthy charity with the benefits gained from the award process.
Funds from the sale of entries will go towards Heart Foundation research across Australia, particularly research into heart defects in children.
