Quick Tip: Cartoon & Illustration Forums
Published by Matt Glover August 2nd, 2006 in Quick TipsA great place to get advice, ask questions or simply hang out (in a virtual way) with other cartoonists and illustrators is the online forum. There are hundreds of different forums based all over the world - some are good while others are not worth a second look.
Many professional organisations have forums that members can discuss things both in a private and public setting. Other forums are run by groups of artists or committed individuals. And there’s propably a forum for every niche in the cartoon and illustration world if you search hard enough.
Anyway, here are a few that I regularly visit. Feel free to add others in the comments section.
Australian Cartoonists’ Association Forum
Cartoonists’ Club of Great Britain
Drawing/Sketching at About.com
Some of these sites are more active than others, so if you’re after a quick response to a question, check to see how many people are members and how often things are being posted. If there’s been nothing posted for a month or more, consider it dead.
