The Stripper’s Guide
Published by Matt Glover July 11th, 2006 in Sites of NoteNo. This is not a post to encourage you to make extra money by taking your clothes off. But come to think of it, I’d probably get more laughs if people saw me naked…
Anyway. I digress.
Allan Holtz is a bit of a comic strip history buff who has a blog where he displays some fine work produced by artists in years gone by. Browsing through his entries, I found it interesting to see how styles have changed over time. The amount of text and the use of dialogue balloons in some of the older work is fascinating - certainly not something you would see today.
If the history of comic strip art is something you’re interested in, then this blog is a must. Even if you’re not, taking some time to look through the sort of work that people were making a living from in previous years is a helpful exercise.
